The group is fortunate to have a professional tutor who is a member of our u3a and who is an expert in the techniques of crewel work, stump work, gold work and long-and-short stitch. No previous experience is necessary and, once members are proficient in various techniques, they are encouraged to design their own work incorporating elements from the different types of embroidery. The atmosphere is very relaxed and there are no deadlines to meet.

Cost: approximately £15 per term payable in advance. The group meets on alternate Friday, except for August.

The group exhibits its work once a year at Thundridge Village Hall usually in November.  Some members visit the Annual Knitting & Stitching Show in October at Alexander Palace where supplies can be obtained.  There are usually some demonstrations and an exhibition by the Royal School of Needlework.  It is usually a good day out.
