The unexamined life is not worth living!” So said Greek Philosopher, Socrates, (470-390 BC); and this Group hopes, through lively talk and discussion, to examine many aspects of life – thoroughly!

If you have ever wondered about whether or not we have free will?; whether one culture is better or worse than another?; what makes something beautiful or ugly, right or wrong?; or have been interested in some of the great ideas about what makes us happier, then this could be the group for you!

Meeting at 14:30 on the third Thursday of every Month at The Hertford Bell, Railway Street, Hertford, we shall, through conversation which hopefully emphasises the light side of philosophy as well as its more profound aspects - explore many of these topics and more.

The hope is to discuss philosophy but not to take life too seriously; to enjoy each others’ company and share our views on a variety of subjects, whilst also looking at life through a philosophical lens, educating ourselves through stimulating thought and conversation.
