The Hertford and District U3A guitar group was launched in February 2018. At that point it comprised 8 members playing mainly acoustic guitars with the joint aims of improving everyone’s knowledge and skill, regardless of their starting level, and drawing enjoyment and satisfaction out of making music as an ensemble.  We largely operate as a self-help group since some members are rumoured to have played in bands many years ago and would have a fund of useful knowledge, if only they could remember it! We have, however, been known to enlist occasional professional support in the past and may do so again if we get really stumped by something.  The guitar group welcomes new members of any standard. The music we play covers pretty much every genre from early folk through country and blues to modern rock. If you have a guitar (of any shape or size) that is presently snoozing in some forgotten corner of the house, and you think it needs some exercise, give us a call. Space is an issue at times, particularly at The Methodist Church on Tuesdays so please always contact the Group Leader before attending. Thank you
