The group has 11 members and this number is about the maximum that can be accommodated in members' homes.
Each member proposes 2 or 3 books that interest them, and the group votes to choose books for the next period. The proposer of the book usually initiates the discussion which can be free ranging (style of writing, topic related issues etc.) The books are ordered from the library, but very occasionally purchased when a 'special' one proves difficult to obtain
Books read and discussed by the group include:
The Bonesetter's Daughter by Amy Tan
Citadel by Kate Mosse
The Sisters Brothers by Patrick De Witt
Dead Line by Stella Rimmington
The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver
Barchester Towers by Anthony Trollope
The Radetzky March by Joseph Roth
Family Album by Penelope
Lively
England, England by Julian Barnes
