We are a book group with a difference - capped at just inside a dozen members so that the actual group size at meetings is generally the ideal maximum of nine, we meet on the fourth Friday of each month at ‘2.15 for 2.30’, to be enthusiastic about a book we have read of our own individual choice.
We meet at the back of the very hospitable Hertford Library.
Our interests are varied; various styles of fiction, plus biographies, memoirs/ diaries. A good source for further ‘good reads’. Recent enthusiasms have been for James Baldwin’s If Beale Street Could Talk, Elif Shafak’s The Island of Missing Trees, and Lucy Mangan’s Bookworm: A Memoir of Childhood Reading.
We do currently have one vacancy as a member has moved to Yorkshire
